Grand Bahama International Airport (FPO) is about 6 minutes from downtown Freeport and about 10 minutes from Port Lucaya. Several international carriers offer direct service to Grand Bahama from various U.S. gateways, but you can also connect in Nassau on regional carriers, including Bahamasair. No bus service is available between the airport and hotels. Metered taxis meet all incoming flights. Rides cost about $15 for two to Freeport, $22 to Lucaya; see posted signs for fixed rates. The price drops to $4 per person with larger groups. There's also an airport in West End (WTD), but it's strictly for private planes and charters.
