Repubblica and Quirinale

Just west of the modern Termini station, this area offers an extraordinary Roman blend of old and new. Think of it as the place where work gets done today: the stretch from Piazza della Repubblica to Piazza Barberini swarms with professionals going in and out of office buildings, as the Quirinale, home to the president of Italy, buzzes with political activity. More than just a workaday area, though, you will also find plenty of attractions for travelers, from the bizarre Capuchin Crypt to ancient artworks and great Bernini sculptures.
